What does "S T X"stand for?

STX stands for, simply, “Sticks”. The company took on this name at its inception when our first and only product was the first synthetic lacrosse stick that revolutionized the game. While we now offer a complete line of lacrosse equipment, including the most advanced gloves and padding available, the lacrosse stick remains the heart of the game and the heart of our company.

Why aren't there any prices on STX's website?

STX products can be purchased only from an STX Authorized Dealer. An individual cannot directly purchase any items from STX. For price information contact the closest STX Authorized Dealer near you.

How can I be assured I'm buying the right stick and equipment for a player of my description?

Throughout this website and on the back of the packaging of all STX products is a recommended size chart. This chart is a general guide based on a person's weight, height, and experience level. We know that lacrosse players come in all shapes and sizes so we strongly recommend you consult your closest STX Authorized Dealer for assistance when trying on our equipment. Remember: Lacrosse is a contact sport and some injuries are bound to occur! To lessen the chance of injury, equipment must fit properly.

Who can I contact about finding a lacrosse league(s) or camps near me?

USLacrosse is the national governing body of lacrosse. Our best suggestion would be to contact them (410-235-6882 or www.lacrosse.org). USLacrosse can assist you with finding information on your regional chapter president that should have a list of all USLacrosse sanctioned events in your area.  Or check out the STX listing here which is updated every Spring.

What kind of warranty and return policy does STX have?

The STX warranty policy is effective if and only if the customer has a dated receipt or proof of purchase from a STX Authorized Dealer. The defective item must be returned back to the sporting goods dealer from which it was purchased. STX will warranty plastic heads, handles, and equipment under the following conditions.

All Heads
STX will replace plastic heads that crack or break under normal playing conditions for up to six months from the customer’s original purchase date. Heads that are altered in any way (baking, melting, dying, or pinching) will not be replaced. In order for a customer to receive a replacement head, he must first return the broken head (with receipt) to the original place of purchase. Once approved, a new head of the same model as the broken head will be given or sent. Strings are not part of the warranty and must be removed and replaced by the customer.

All Handles (except aluminum)
If accompanied by a dated proof of purchase, covered and will be replaced for up to six months in the event of severe bending or breaking during normal play. Dings, dents, scratching may occur during normal use and are not covered by the warranty. Each warranted handle will be replaced with a same-model handle or, if not available, with one of equal value. Intentionally bending or cutting a handle or other deliberate tampering or evidence of inappropriate use of a handle will void the warranty.

Equipment
With a dated receipt or proof of purchase, STX will replace equipment that evidences poor workmanship and/or material failure within six months of original purchase. Tampering with or altering STX equipment from its original design or construction will void any warranty for the product. Honored warranty claims will result in a customer receiving a replacement item of the same model or value.

STX and STX Authorized Dealers reserve the right to question and refuse any claims made for warranties if tampering or foul play is suspected.

If I have an idea or design that I would like to share with STX who can I send it to?

Because STX is and always has been a lacrosse incubator, STX has a policy of not soliciting ideas from individuals not already employed by STX. We certainly welcome your enthusiasm for new lacrosse products, but the complex world of intellectual property law makes it necessary that we establish up front who owns the rights to a new idea. For that reason, if you want to contribute an idea that is not already protected by a patent or trademark and that you believe to be novel, STX will request that you formally assign the idea to us before we even look at it. This eliminates any confusion later on if a new product feature looks familiar and, unbeknownst to you, STX has been working on the same idea for years. You have to get up awfully early to surprise us with a lacrosse idea that hasn't, at one time or another, been tried or thought of here. Remember, we do this stuff for a living!!

Why is it legal for all STX heads to go on the Crankshaft 2 except the Bionic and the Primer?

The Crankshaft 2 degree handle may be used on all of these STX heads: Arrow, Proton Power, Deuce, Profile, Proton +, G Force and AV8 (not the Bionic or Primer) and other lacrosse heads as long as the assembled stick passes the “table top” test. To meet collegiate men's rules, the stick must pass a “table top” test:

1. Stick rests on a table with the pocket opening facing down.
2. The distance from the tabletop to the highest edge of the head from the table cannot exceed 2 3/4 inches.

When you use the Crankshaft 2 degree handle with the Primer or the Bionic, the distance from the table to the top of the plastic exceeds 2 and ¾ inches.

Is the Crankshaft legal?

Yes. Click here to download the 2006 NCAA Men's Rules Clarification document (PDF)
